Pearl - Back from the brink!!

When our spunky young cat Pearl suddenly became gravely ill, we took her to Alley Cat right away. Dr. Miller immediately suspected acute kidney failure and the lab tests confirmed his diagnosis. Acute kidney failure is often fatal, even with aggressive treatment, and Dr. Miller tried to prepare us for the strong possibility that she would not make it. The prognosis was grim - she was on the brink of death. But we couldn't bear to lose her so we asked Dr. Miller to do whatever he could to save her life. And save her he did!

Pearl was hospitalized at Alley Cat for two weeks. We came to visit her almost every day. The Alley Cat staff would bring her into an exam room, with her IV tube still attached, so we could spend some quiet time with her. Our visits took up a lot of the staff’s time and attention, but they were always patient and kind with us. And every time we visited, Dr. Miller would make time to talk with us about Pearl’s condition and latest lab results.
For the first week Pearl was no better at all but then she began to improve. At ten days she was much better and began to eat normally. After two weeks, lab tests showed that her kidney function had recovered and we brought her home. That was a year ago and she’s been fine ever since - as energetic and active as ever!

Dr. Miller and his great staff devoted a lot of time to Pearl and it was obvious that they cared about her. When she finally pulled through, against the odds, their joy was evident. When we take our pets to Alley Cat, we know that they get treated with both competence and compassion.

15 year old L.B. Gavette                                                                                                                                             Over the last several years, we noticed increasing flexibility limitations on our 15-year-old Yorkie, L.B. Dr Miller recommended various therapies, but the miracle drug for L.B. was Adequan.  After just the first shot we noticed better mobility. L.B. was again able to walk down the street to tag his favorite telephone pole.  Probably the most telling sign was in his eyes.  They were obviously reflecting the relief he was experiencing.  The only side effect we noticed was that L.B. had a slightly decreased appetite for a few hours after having the Adequan shot.
L.B. can no longer do the jumping on the furniture he could in years past, but due to being on the maintenance program of Adequan, his quality of life has improved immeasurably.

We are very appreciative to Alley Cat for staying current on therapies that benefit our pets.

                                     BODIE RECEIVES THE LIGHT         Bodie_Horn.jpg

Our six month old yellow Labrador, Bodie, injured his knee and was walking with a severe limp.  After several weeks of rest and anti-inflammatory/pain medication, Bodie continued to limp. After X-Rays were taken, to rule out any structural damage to the knee, Dr. Miller and staff at Alley Cat made a recommendation.  They suggested we try the Low Level Laser Treatment therapy with the hope it would help stimulate the healing process.  After just two treatments, Bodie’s limp was gone and our healthy, happy puppy was back.

Many thanks to the Staff at Alley Cat for providing such wonderful care for our pets. . .
